Bolt launches the second call for tech startups!

Bolt keeps bringing the best from Silicon Valley to Southern Europe. The Accelerator is its program of support for tech startups in the ICT sector. The Accelerator has just announced a second global call, in which it expects to invite 10 new companies to join the program. These startups will be temporarily relocated to the Bolt facilities from where they will continue to work in and be mentored on their projects. Their unique coastline office of Tabacalera Málaga (Spain) will host the companies for 14 weeks.

This is the second call from Bolt after a successful one in March. The first call received more than 150 applications but due to the high entrance criteria of the program only 5% were brought into the program. The second call expects to double the number of applications from the first call. Rafael Aguado, founder and CEO of Bolt commented: “we have been completely overwhelmed by the positive results from the first round of companies. The global startups -, Humantide, Nubbler, ProHealth, Tawea and Urban-M– are already raising funds from investors and institutions although they have not yet finished the accelerator process that runs through to the end of October. Teams full of talent and motivation are working as fast as possible to move from a minimal viable product to full production and distribution. On November 19, Bolt is celebrating the Investor Day of the first call, where we are expecting to successfully cover over 50% of the startups fund raising needs”.

In order to get a place in the program, Bolt states that they are only considering projects based on Internet, mobile and software, aimed at Smart City, eHeath, Tourism and Entertainment. “We search for unique, global, mobile and highly scalable companies. They have to have a disruptive idea/technology. We don’t support copycats” Rafael Aguado added.

Bolt will offer to all of the startups a services package, a world-class mentoring program, a co-working space, funds of up to 20.000€ per project, soft-landing support and the commitment by Bolt of actively seeking investors to finance the startup.

These services are a result of collaborating with key global partners such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Gigas, among others. To review the next call terms visit
